Franchise FAQ
Winslow Windows & Doors has spent over 15 years building something people trust. That trust now carries a franchise line: (844) 901-4551. Below are the questions we hear most from people thinking about joining us. Straight answers, no filler.
Common Questions
Do I need windows and doors experience to open a Winslow franchise?
No. You need to know how to run a business and treat people well. We handle the technical training. We have been installing impact windows, doors, and roofing since 2011, and our training program exists to teach you the trade from the ground up. If you have managed a team, run a service business, or led a sales operation, you have the core skills. Many of our strongest franchise candidates came from completely different industries.
What does the total investment range look like?
Total initial investment ranges from roughly $150,000 to $350,000 depending on your market size, real estate costs, and initial inventory. That includes the franchise fee, equipment, training, initial marketing, and working capital to get you through the first months. We give every candidate a written breakdown before you commit to anything. No surprises on this side of the table.
Is financing available?
Yes, through third-party lenders familiar with franchise lending. We do not finance directly, but we will connect you with lenders who understand our model and have worked with franchisees before. Many candidates also use SBA loans, which are well suited to franchise startups. Our team will walk you through what lenders look for and what paperwork you will need.
Do I get an exclusive territory?
Yes. Every franchisee receives a protected territory defined by population, zip codes, or county lines before you sign. The exact boundaries depend on your market and the agreement we build together. You will never compete with another Winslow location inside your own territory. We would rather have one franchisee doing excellent work than three fighting over the same street.
How long is training and what does it cover?
Initial training runs four to six weeks, split between our home location and your territory. You will learn product knowledge across all eight authorized brands we install: PGT, CGI, CWS, ES Windows, ECO Window Systems, Mr-Glass, Therma-Tru, and ViewLux. You will also learn installation standards, sales, quoting, hiring background-checked technicians, and how to honor the Done Right Promise the same way we have since day one. Training does not end there. We provide ongoing support for as long as you own the franchise.
What are the ongoing fees and royalties?
Royalties are a percentage of gross sales, paid monthly. There is also a marketing fund contribution. Every fee is disclosed in our Franchise Disclosure Document so you can review it with your own advisor. We do not hide fees in fine print. The royalties fund the support you receive: training, operations help, national marketing, and a support line where a live person answers 24/7. You are never paying for a voicemail loop.
How long does it take to open once I sign?
Most franchisees are open within four to eight months. The timeline depends on how quickly you secure a location, complete training, and hire your first technicians. We give you a milestone schedule on day one so you know what happens in month one, month three, and month six. Ed Winslow personally stays involved through every launch.
What kind of support do I get after opening?
Real support, not a quarterly newsletter. You get operations help, marketing support, pricing guidance, and access to our supplier relationships across all eight authorized brands. Our live-answer phone standard applies to franchise support too. You call, a person picks up. We also provide ongoing training for your technicians so quality stays consistent across every Winslow location. The Done Right Promise only works if every franchisee does the job right. We help make that happen.
Who is the ideal franchise candidate?
Someone who wants to build a local business with a real reputation behind it. You should be comfortable hiring and leading a team, talking to homeowners, and holding people to a high standard. You do not need to be a master installer. You need to care that the job is done right and be willing to stand behind it. If the phrase “the one down the road” means something to you, you are probably our kind of people.
What is the next step if I am interested?
Call (844) 901-4551. That is our franchise line, and a live person answers. We will ask about your background, your target market, and your timeline. Then we will send you an information packet and schedule a conversation with Ed Winslow. No pressure, no rush. We would rather have ten right franchisees than a hundred wrong ones.
Still Have Questions?
Call (844) 901-4551 and speak with a live person, 24/7. If you prefer, submit the form on this page and we will reach out within one business day. Either way, you will talk to a human being, not an automated system. We have been locally owned and owner-operated since 2011, and that starts with how we answer the phone.
